Application Information
Temperature: Best results when used at 80 - 90 degrees F
Application Method: Best with Flow-Over/Flo-On/No-Dip systems; also used for hand stripping and in dip tanks.
Performance: Begins dissolving most clear finishes within 3 -5 minutes and some tougher finishes within 15 minutes. Begins dissolving latex within 1 - 3 minutes and most other paints within 15 minutes.
Rinse: Recommend high pressure water rinse at 500 - 1500 psi. High pressure water helps to pull stain. Can use alcohol rinse (recommend acetone) with similar results to methylene chloride removers.
Recycling Rinsewater: Rinsewaters can be reused. Over time the remover will biodegrade into a product which produces a noticeable odor. Treated collected recycled rinsewater with 1 gallon of household bleach (6% free chlorine) for every 65 - 100 gallons of rinsewater. Treat every two weeks or with each fresh batch of rinsewater. Rinsing methods, temperatures, finish residues, etc. will have varying impacts on the decomposition of Big "E" rinsewaters.
Dry Time: Most woods dry within 3 hours when rinsed as recommended. Can refinish after 12 - 24 hours.
Disposal Information
Stripper waste (sludge): The remover content in the stripper sludge will have negligible impact on its potential hazard rating. The sludge should be evaluated according to the stripped finishes it contains and be disposed accordingly.
Rinse Water Waste: Most Big "E" product residues such as those generated during furniture rinsing operations may be discharged to most urban wastewater treatment plants. Some finish residues may not be discharged to local wastewater treatment plants. Provide Big "E" MSDS and finish residue information to local water treatment authorities prior to initial discharge. Never dispose directly to water bodies such as streams or ponds, to septic tanks, or directly onto the ground.
Unused Product: Unused product is classified as a D001 ignitable hazardous waste in most cases. Dispose accordingly.
